Got a dusty computer room? Don’t clean, just purchase a USB mask.
“The USB Mask looks essentially like it has a pair of PC case fans on either side that are powered by the black USB cord that comes out of the front of the mask. From the photos, it also appears you’re supposed to wear a standard dust mask underneath the USB Mask for additional air filtration. I suppose if you have an incredibly dusty office or a seriously horrific case of allergies or asthma this might do you some good; let’s say you’re allergic to dogs and work at a pet store, or if you’re in IT and your inevitable basement office is being invaded by creeping black mold, then this might be a good idea for you. Alternatively, if the air quality is that bad, you might just want to consider a new line of work. The […]

It is funny how these security experts can pick apart the Nintendo Game Cube and Wii security implementation. Have a close look at the connector in the picture, that’s right it says ‘insert modchip here’…
Video after the jump.
“Interesting if not long-winded explanation of DVD Security on Nintendo’s Wii
Cover’s everything from Nintendo’s original flaws in the Gamecubes copy protection and extensively covers the Wii’s security procedures, well worth a watch if console hacking is your thing…..”

I bet this car doesn’t get stolen very often. If you are looking for a head turner this car that is painted to look like snake skin should suffice.

This is an intro video of the CoilOSapien, Marcus will provide some build details in the near future!
Video after the jump.
“DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS!!!
The coilgun is controlled using the V2’s remote and is able to fire 8 shots with it’s electronic reload.
The charging time varies but is around the 5-10sec mark between shots, a red indicator light shows when the unit is charged and ready to fire, a laser sight aids in aiming.
A tutorial for the CoilOsapien hack will be found on my website this will discuss the theory and construction details of the coilgun modification.
Once again DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS HACK. Unless you are comfortable and familiar with potentially lethal voltages, eye damaging laser diodes and fast moving projectiles!!! ”
Thanks Robert

This is one of the coolest chairs I have ever seen. It looks very sturdy, with a few modifications I could see this being used as the seating that is stored in the closet waiting for an occasion where you have lots of guests. A cloth band that locks the folds in the selected configuration could keep the chair from re-contorting over time.

These snow and ice speakers are not you everyday outdoor speakers. I am sure the 2007 Michigan Tech Winter Carnival had no shortage of good tunes with these things belting out the tunes.

This is almost as funny as the USB dog! I hope that’s a full flashbag in your pocket.
“The size of the device changes depending on the amount of data it holds.
When the device is about to blow up you will see the familiar error message on your screen: “There is not enough free space”.
When switched off the flashbag remains pumped up, so you can estimate with the naked eye how much more pics, books and music albums can be transferred into it. ”

Ok, I am not going to insult anyones intelligence here and claim that this video could be true. I am curious how it is done though. My theory is that during one of the early cut scenes the nails that are inserted into the candles are connected to power from under the table. Or longer nails are inserted and there are hooked up to power from the back of the candle and simply draped over the back edge of the table (not visible by the camera). The power is then controlled by a switch that is located under the table.
It seems that his hands go under the table whenever power is applied or removed. I guess it could also be controlled by someone who is off camera. I was thinking that the jumper cables were simply connected to power from the right and left where the camera can’t see […]

How do you make a better mouse trap? Easy add some electronics to it and shake well… Check out the results.
“A bait will be placed inside the trap with a hair trigger originally designed for Humpa the Robot (a story for another day), connected to the inputs of a PIC microcontroller board, which is in turn connected to a stepper motor controller. Both the pic board and motor controller were conceived a number of years previously. The intention was for them to be general purpose and modular. They have controlled a variety of gadgets including robots, LCDs and hydroponics controllers; but this is not their tale. Other than to mention, it was the frustration and monotony of fabricating these utility boards which set me off on my CNC quest in the first place.
Triggering the PIC will rotate the stepper a set number of steps which should, […]
